Strategy For The Horse Industry - Defra: The Government is working in partnership with the horse industry to devise a long-term strategy for the industry. The aim of the strategy is to set out a vision of where the industry aspires to be in ten years, how its different sectors fit into this vision, and how the Government can help it in following this path. It is not for Government to dictate a plan, but rather for the industry working together to set out its vision, and for Government to see how it can help. The British Horse Industry Confederation (BHIC), with Defra’s Horse Industry Team, will lead in developing the strategy. The BHIC is the umbrella body formed to represent the industry’s views to Government.
